Music production with a difference

At Rocinante Studios, we don't try to compete with more professional/analog and more expensive studios.

We cater to solo singers and songwriters, voice-over artists and small acoustic bands (we don't have a drumkit yet). Our difference lies in our commitment to you: to help you bring your song, music or a voice track to life.

Many songwriters don’t have easy access to other musicians, or the funds to hire them. Not many voiceover artists have their own professional setup.

This is where Rocinante Studios can help out. We have low overheads, which lets us move quickly, and retain a competitive price. Even if you can only play an instrument a little bit, we can still incorporate it into the song.

RECORDING VOCALS

Vocal recording is done using a selection of fantastic mics including U87. There is a custom built vocal booth which gives a noise free isolated environment. Vocal recording can also be done in the live room using portable Gobos and a vocal shield, if preferred.

Mixing

A professional mix can be done of all tracks recorded in the studio. Also, Rocinante Studios can mix externally recorded sessions. If no mixing is required, the raw files and/or project can be shared at no cost.

Arranging

Your song can be arranged into a proper production. This is useful if you have a sketch or rough recording, that you would like to build into a full song.

Instrumentation

Instrumentation can be added to any existing track, or can be created from scratch by the producer. Examples are vocal, guitar (acoustic and electric), piano, synth, bass guitar, orchestration, tin whistle, banjo and harmonica. Drums can be programmed using industry standard sample libraries.

RECORDING INSTRUMENTS

Acoustic instruments are generally recorded using a combination of large and small diaphragm condenser microphones. Amplified instruments can be recorded by micing up an amp in the vocal booth, or a straight DI if preferred. There is also a full size piano, which can record directly to midi.

Mastering

A complimentary master will be done, which gets your song to a commercial volume and quality. You will also receive an unmastered version of your song if you choose to use an external mastering studio.

Voice-over

The studio vocal booth is perfect for voice over artists. The booth could either be used with the artist's own equipment, or the studio equipment.

Videos AND GUITAR LESSON

A live video can be recorded of a song. The video and audio are recorded separately, so that the audio can be properly mixed.

PAYMENTS AND DEPOSITS

We currently accept PayPal and Square payments. PayPal incurs a fee of 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction. Square incurs a fee of 2.75% per swiped transaction or 3.5% plus $0.15 per keyed-in transaction. Total payments are rounded up to the nearest dollar.
